About Media Democrats
In 1976, the Media Democrats first published their Newsletter known as the “Media Minutes”. At that time, as remains in most of Delaware County today, there were 3 registered Republicans in Media for every 1 Democrat. Our candidates ran under the banner of the “Media Minutes Team”. Since that time more then 24 individuals have been elected as Democrats and have served as Mayor, members of Borough Council, tax collector and Constable.
The following is a partial list of what we have achieved while serving the people of Media as the majority party in our local government:

- Acquisition of the Armory and Opening of "Trader Joes"
In recent years, National and Statewide Democratic candidates have carried Media by huge margins as Republicans and Democrats alike have rejected the policies and practices of the National Republican Committee as led by President Bush. Today the number of registered Democrats and Republicans in town is almost even. Thus the recent name change of our Newsletter and the Banner under which our local candidates run to the MEDIA DEMOCRATS. We’re still the group that keeps the interest of the residents of Media first and remain independent and free of the pervasive influence of the Delaware County GOP Machine.
